Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of graded levels of moringa leaf meal on the haematological profile of starter broiler birds. A total of one hundred and forty four, one week old broilers were randomly allotted to four treatment diets (D1,D2,D3 &D4) which contained) 0 g, 250 g 500 g and 750 g levels of moringa leaf meal respectively in completely randomized design. The haematological parameters were assessed at the end of five week feeding trial. Results showed that the ial did not significantly (P>0.05) affect the haemtological parameters studied except for MCV, MCH and lymphocytes that were significantly (P<0.05) affected. It was therefore concluded that inclusion of moringa leaf in the diet of starter broiler birds does not have adverse effect on the health status of the birds.
